ICOO Scholarships

New to 2019…

The 2019 Indiana Conservation Officer Organization Scholarship will be award differently than in years past. Recipients of both scholarships will be chosen from the Student Councilors that volunteer at the ICOO Karl E. Kelley Memorial Youth Camp. Held every June, the ICOO Karl E. Kelley Memorial Youth Camp is a week long camp where over 100 fifth and sixth grade students are able to experience firearm safety, Hunter Education, Boater Education, and so much more. Student Councilors play an integral role providing positive experiences and seeing that each camper is safe and having a great camp. Applications will no longer be available or rewarded on ICOO.com. 2018 ICOO Scholarship Winners – Officer Dependents

Triston McDaniel:
Triston is the son of ICO Scott McDaniel currently assigned to Marion County in operational district 6. Triston is currently attending Indiana University – Bloomington majoring in Business Informatics as a sophomore. Triston is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys primarily hunting and fishing. He hopes to use his degree to enhance fish and wildlife conservation efforts.

Jenna Duff:
Jenna is the daughter of ICO Robert J. Duff currently assigned to LaGrange County in operational district 2. Jenna currently attends Westview High school. She will be attending Grace College majoring in Physical Therapy this fall. Jenna is a three sport athlete and plans to run track at Grace College next year.


2018 ICO Thomas J. Deniston Memorial Scholarship Winners

Tristan Bolte:
Tristan is a second year student at Vincennes University majoring in Conservation Law. Tristan plans to become an Indiana Conservation Officer, and has had this goal since attending the ICOO Karl E. Kelley youth camp as a sixth grade student. Tristan is active outside of school including; achieving Eagle scout honors in the Boy Scouts in 2014, volunteering for his local fire department, and maintaing a passion for the outdoors.

Ryan McIntyre:
Ryan is a senior at Anderson High School. He is planning to attend IVY Tech majoring in Criminal Justice. Ryan plans to pursue a career in law enforcement as well as other public service domains. Ryan maintains a close knit family, good grades, and is active in a variety of athletics. Ryan has competed at the state championship level in both bowling and archery.

Samuel Rance:
Samuel is a senior at Tri-County High School. He is planning to attend Vincennes University to major in Conservation Law Enforcement. Samuel is very active in his local FFA organization, 4-H, and boy scouts. Starting as a tiger scout, Samuel has currently earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Samuel also maintains steady employment while balancing his school and organizational time commitments.
